Why Jesus Came To Save Not Condemn
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
Jesus doesn’t arrive as a critic looking for reasons to condemn us. He arrives with a mission, and John 3:17 says it plainly: God sends his Son to save the world. That single verse changes the emotional temperature of the Gospel, and we slow down to ask what it means for real people who carry real guilt, real wounds, and real questions about who Jesus is and why he came.
We trace the mission through Scripture the way the Bible presents it. John the Baptist points and names Jesus “the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world,” and we talk about why that language mattered to Israel and why it still matters for Christians today. Then Luke 2 brings Simeon onto the scene, holding Jesus and calling him salvation, a light for the Gentiles and glory for Israel. That’s not small or tribal. It’s worldwide and deeply personal.
From there we step into John 4, where Jesus “has to” go through Samaria and meets the woman at the well. Watching him love someone labeled an outsider forces us to face a hard truth: outsiders sometimes see what insiders miss. We also connect Jesus’ own mission statements, his resolve to finish the work, and the way his cross draws people in, leading straight into the Great Commission and the ongoing mission of the church.
If Jesus truly is the Savior of the world, what does that change about how we treat the unreachable, the untouchable, and the people we’d rather avoid? Subscribe, share this with a friend, leave a review, and tell us what part of Jesus’ mission you want to live out this week.

Welcome And The Big Question
SPEAKER_01Hello, friends, and welcome back to the Rooted and Ground the podcast. Matt Miller, Wayne Wood. Welcome. Well, thank you, sir. Welcome to you, Mr. Manuel Grant. Thank you. Thank you. Uh so last episode, uh, if you haven't listened to it, go back and do that. Um, last episode, we started the trying to answer the question of who is Jesus? And uh, we know there's a lot of layers and facets to that question, but we started from the angle of Jesus as the Son of God. And today, as we try to answer that question of who is Jesus, we're going to look at it from really what he came to do. And you know, Wayne, Jesus really came on a mission.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_01What was his mission?
SPEAKER_02Well, you know, according to the word, it was thankfully, right? It was to save us from our sins.
SPEAKER_03That's right.
SPEAKER_02You know, and it and it was a mission.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_02I mean, it's a mission that that uh he said that the father had sent him on. And he understood that mission because he said, I didn't I didn't come here to do my will. Came here to do the will of the Father. And that was the that's what he came for, and it's what he said, John Luke 19, 10. I came to save the world from their sins. And how blessed we are today to be able to make that statement and to realize that he's the savior of the world. He came to be the savior of the world because of our need of a redeemer.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
Jesus Saves Not Condemns
SPEAKER_02And uh he came to he came on a mission. And you know the good news? He accomplished that mission. He did it. Right? Yeah, he did it. That's exactly right. For sure. Yeah.
What A Mission Really Means
SPEAKER_01So let's let's start off in John 3. Uh, I I know we looked at John 3, 16 last episode, and I know if you're listening, you know that uh verse, but let's read that. But then I I really want us to focus on verse 17, more so than verse 16. For God so loved the world that he gave his only son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life. For God did not send his son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. So, Matt, talk uh kick it off for us. Uh, if Christ came specifically not to condemn the world, but to save the world, what does that look like? What does that mean? Where where should we start going to try to dissect this aspect of Jesus' identity?
SPEAKER_04You guys are talking about mission and to kind of to get to this idea, the we all have in some way, shape, or form been a part of a mission trip. And you know, you have those objectives that you know you want to accomplish. Okay, so we're gonna have a VBS, we're gonna go have a work day, we're gonna go have all those things and medical, yeah, medical. Whatever the yeah, whatever that mission trip would be, and everybody's focused, praying, paying attention to it. And, you know, that was the mission of Jesus. Now, here's what I this is I I love this because there was gonna be a guy that was gonna pave the way for this mission, really. He's he's laying it out, and it's just right.
SPEAKER_02But you know, that's the way it is with the mission trip. Yeah, you just don't show up and where we're going, what we're doing, what's the purpose?
Behold The Lamb Of God
SPEAKER_04I mean, you know beforehand, and people have laid the like we're gonna be there, this is what we're doing, we're gonna be here on this day. This is gonna, and then when people come, oh man, they're here. Yeah, and it's the same thing um in uh John chapter one, talking about John the baptizer. He's the one who is paving that path, and he is the one telling people to be focused. I mean, and he's looking at Israel and he's getting them to truly want to turn and you know pay attention because the Christ is right in our grasp. He's and we've talked about this on the podcast. It's within grasp, it's it's right there at the hand, right? And in verse 29, it says, the next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, Behold the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world. He is about to eliminate the world's problem for sin. And you know, the the other thing about that is he is the lamb. So those Jews and those Israelites knew what that lamb meant. They knew that was a sacrifice. So now all of a sudden, when they hear that, if they hear it with the open and receptive heart, it's like, so what are you trying to say? And he he's he's letting on or he's beginning to push the mission of Jesus, which it's a heavenly, I mean, this is heavenly, you know, it's a divine thing that God's gonna use John the baptizer to set up what's about to happen. And when John sees him, I can only imagine how John felt when he saw him.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_04I mean, that behold does it no justice with the exclamation point. That's right. I mean, when he sees Jesus, he's like, This is it. There he is. I mean, I like I know who he is and I know all the things, but there he is. I mean, it's like he just completely loses sight of it.
SPEAKER_02And we kind of do that to it, not to that level, I don't think. But I think we can grab hold a little bit of it when you're anticipating a loved one coming, where it be a you know, a relative or grandchildren or whatever, and when they finally get there after a 10 or 12 hour journey, you know, I mean, you just light up. Your world changes. Yes. Now, I don't any I don't think it's anything like probably what John but we can see that. We can sense that because of what he was looking for. He knew he was preparing and getting things ready for the mission.
SPEAKER_04That's right.
Simeon Sees Salvation At Last
SPEAKER_01Okay. Well, and and really that mission was a very long time coming because I mean I mean, we see the first prophecy of Christ in Genesis 3, yeah, when he will bruise the head of the serpent, and the serpent he'll crush the head and serpent will bruise the heel. And really, the whole road of scripture is leading and preparing to that point. Now, sometimes the preparation is uh worsening our condition, whereas other times you've got people like David and Hezekiah and Elijah and the people that are are paving the way. But Matt, as you were talking about that, I went to Luke chapter two, and someone we I don't know that I've ever heard a lesson on this guy, but just kind of in a passing sense. Oh, yeah. There's someone named Simeon. That's right. And and I want to read these verses starting in verse 25. And so Jesus has just been born and his family has brought him to the temple. So Luke 2, 25. Now there was a man in Jerusalem whose name was Simeon, and this man was righteous and devout, waiting for the consolation of Israel, and the Holy Spirit was upon him. And it had been revealed to him by the Holy Spirit that he would not see death before he had seen the Lord's Christ. And he came in the spirit into the temple, and when the parents brought in the child Jesus to do for him according to the custom of the law, he took him up in his arms and blessed God and said, Lord, now you are letting your servant depart in peace according to your word. Verse 30, for my eyes have seen your salvation that you have prepared in the presence of all peoples, a light of revelations to the Gentiles and for glory to your people Israel. Oh, bro. And talk about someone ready for the mission, but also just the perfect summary of what it's going to be of this is your salvation, it's glory for the Jews, it's light for the Gentiles. I can die happy because it is finally here. And what what a mindset for us to try to emulate and to live out.
The Woman At The Well
SPEAKER_04Well, the I'm just telling you, I'm like really excited about what we're talking about right now. Like I've I've just found myself like trying to keep my composure because you're right, verse 32 a light to bring revelation to the Gentiles and the glory of your people Israel. I mean, that was the whole point for, and that's I mean, really, that's what John is trying to do. He's trying to get their mind, okay, guys. We've been talking about it. You remember Genesis 3. We know what's coming. We know Shiloh is coming, right? They know all the terms, they know all the things. If they paid any attention, they recognize, you know, Christ is coming. And this guy right here, I mean, the spirit just lets him speak truth, man. And he actually tells, like you said, what the mission is gonna be. Light to the Gentiles, and Israel will be glorified because the Messiah is coming through uh those people, you know, and it's like um he is not just coming to save a selected group, he's coming to save anybody who wants it. The whole wide world has the opportunity to be able to be a part of this light. And, you know, it that even moves on. Uh, we've been talking about this even before we started in John chapter four, when Jesus goes and talks to the outsider of all outsiders. I mean, the dogs, the ones that they don't, I mean, maybe people don't even appreciate that. Maybe just think about somebody you just can't stand. That's who he went to. And she becomes a true, I mean, she becomes a true witness to the Savior and just the effect that he has on people, you know. I mean, I think that's so cool to me.
SPEAKER_02And you see, is love for people that, as you say, the word you use the word dog, the hatred between those uh groups, Jew, Gentile, and and Samaritans. But I've always found it interesting, John 4.4, he had to pass through Samaria. Yep. That wasn't easy to say. Mission is a mission. We got a mission. That's exactly right. Uh-huh. And you see that because um it would have been easier for him not to go through. Yeah. Right?
SPEAKER_04Well, they wanted to not go through, man.
SPEAKER_02Exactly right. The disciples said, What are we doing? Yeah. Why are we going this way? Okay, because he knew because he had a mission. Yeah. Okay. And that mission was what he just began to see for his entire life, and then as he ascended back to the Father. But uh, yeah, he came to this woman at the well, and uh, it's just that that whole story, the whole story of the woman at the well, it's just amazing to me.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, the the the in John chapter 4 in verse 39, the title above mine, it says, The Savior of the World.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_04I mean, because of how Jesus interacted with her and the effect that, you know, we had talked about this before. Like, what is that thing that gets people to connect to Jesus to want to say, Oh, yeah, I believe that he's the son of God? Well, it's all of these things now beginning to pile up where the pile becomes so big and so heavy that it's like, I don't have any other choice except to believe. Because look at how he acts towards these people. I mean, she runs into the city, she tells them, you need to come out here and see. And they make the statement, verse 42. Then they said to the woman, Now we believe not because John 4, 42, not because of what you said, for we ourselves have heard him and know that this is indeed the Christ, the savior of the world. Man, that they are John said it, Simeon said it, the woman at the well said it, now the Samaritans are saying it. I mean, just his influence on them is is pointing them to a direction, and you know, I appreciate Jesus. You know, sometimes I'm I make the joke like I'm teaching the class and they're answering it how I want them to answer it, and it's like, oh man, I'm doing a good job. Like they following my logic. Jesus was so in sync with the mission to be the savior of the world, that's what they say. He ain't even died on the cross yet.
SPEAKER_02Right. And think about the impact of this moment upon his disciples, his followers. I mean they wouldn't have done this. No. Because you remember they went away to get some food, right? And you come back and you see their attitude toward this group that we talked about, the Samaritans. Yep. And the dislike, the lack of trust. At that point, when they came back, the disciples in verse 27 came and they were, they just weren't. Who's that? It says they were amazed. You can't believe it. That yeah, they couldn't believe their eyes. What were they seeing? That he had been speaking with a woman. But then you see fear jumping all over them because no one dares say, What are you doing, Master? No, who are you talking to? Who are you doing? Who are you talking to her? Of all the people. And they even said, Why do you speak to her? They weren't about to ask that question. No. See, their mission wasn't understanding yet. Yeah, it was a teaching moment for them because of the mission of Jesus the Christ.
SPEAKER_04How did he like this is what I mean? I'm just like, I'm zeroing in on this. He hasn't died on the cross yet. Like, Simeon is saying it, and John is saying it. So the Lord is setting up something special. And in John 4, just his communication and the way that he's addressing them. And and I mean, I think maybe this is application. Bright idea, guys. If we care about people, maybe they can see who Jesus is. I mean, well, Jesus says it himself.
SPEAKER_01Um listen to him, right? I mean, because you think you think about it in Luke 4, he says, the Spirit of the Lord is upon me. Uh, he's anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor, liberty uh to the captive, sight to the blind, liberty to the oppressed, and proclaim the year of the Lord's favor. And he says, Today this is fulfilled in your hearing because it's me. Because it's me, man. He's like, I'm on this mission. And ultimately, and don't want to jump ahead to the end, but you think about John 17 4 when he's saying his high priestly prayer there at the end, he's like, I've done everything he's given to me to do. It is accomplished. Yep. And then even on the cross, what does he say? It's done. It's finished. Yep. Yeah, yeah. Yeah.
SPEAKER_04Oh man.
SPEAKER_02And the only reason he could say it's finished, why? He came not to do his will. That's right. That was his whole mission. Not it's not about me, it's about doing your will, Father.
SPEAKER_04Yeah. Well, one of the other, just in, you know, we're we're kind of like building around his his life. One of the biggest things for me, you know, I try to live like I'm supposed to, and I try to be that encouragement. And a lot of times, and I think maybe that's why Peter says, add to your faith these things to remind you to keep pressing on. Well, Jesus was so locked in at not only, I mean, he is the example of love in all the facets, and it's high level. Like we're talking about the highest level of it, but he also had to not sin. You know what I'm saying? Like he had to live a perfect life while doing all that other stuff. And it's like, you know, sometimes I think we can get discouraged and say, man, I'm I'm doing really good in this area, but I'm doing terrible in this area. And it's like, yes, we do struggle, and yes, we don't uh do it the right way. But guess what? We've got somebody who saved us so when we mess up, we can say, you know what? I gotta get back right. He's doing this and he's living this sinless life so that we can have the opportunity to press on to try and be like him. I mean, I think that's why they connected with him so much, even those Samaritans, was because he they didn't realize maybe to the fullest, but I mean they said he's the savior of the world and he's the Christ. Like their belief was pretty strong, but maybe not even to the fullness. And here's the disciples, like, we believe, but it's like, do we really get it?
Outsiders See What Insiders Miss
SPEAKER_02Like, do we really know who we're with? Well, you know, it kind of reminds me in our last episode about Jesus as God's son, is the son of God. And we talked about then about how the scribes and religious leaders were uh missing the whole point because they're saying, oh, all you're doing is blaspheming. You're not you're not the son of God, only God could do that. And they were right about the statement that only God could heal, but they miss that. And I think it was earlier today we were talking about a point with the um with the Samaritans that we want to make sure we don't miss this. In other words, these outsiders. We all know Samaritans are outsiders with the Jews, right? But uh we read this morning that out outsiders saw this is just so good, guys. Outsiders saw what insiders missed. They missed it. Even the disciples missed it.
SPEAKER_04Well, I mean, even when Jesus is talking in the in the synagogue.
SPEAKER_02Exactly.
SPEAKER_04They're like, I mean, they in the moment, they're like, man, this is amazing. Right. But then you got those ones that are like, who's this guy think he is? Right. I mean, I just missed it. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Just totally and completely. Well, and I mean, and we see that with the apostles all the time too, because I mean they have their uh who's the greatest moments. And I I think about when Jesus is praying in the garden, they're they're dozing.
SPEAKER_04They are not.
SPEAKER_01And they were right there with him. And I think we're all the same way, but uh, but I think a good application for us with this is especially thinking about the apostles. After the salvation was realized and they were working on spreading the gospel, yeah, they got it.
SPEAKER_04They got it, exactly.
SPEAKER_01And even though we all have times where we either cloud our vision or we close our ears or we we're just off the mark, we've got time to get it.
SPEAKER_04Yep.
SPEAKER_01That's right. And I think that that is an encouraging part of scripture is that I mean, you've got this Samaritan woman. Um, I mean, she's not anyone that we would aspire to be, but God's using her for sure. Or God's using the the tax collectors and the fishermen, and I mean the things of the world that are not to put to shame the things of the world that are. Uh so I think that's a very inviting call from God of saying, if you'll come to me, I'll use you. I'll put you on this mission uh that that is mine, and and you can be a part of it. But you've got to do it my way. Yeah.
SPEAKER_04The I was thinking about uh when Jesus, and he said this in several times, I haven't seen a faith like this in all of Israel, you know, with the woman and and in various situations, and it it just goes to show that people who just see Jesus for who he is, and and I think like this is a challenge, um, even in conversations that you know I've been having here lately because I think of the world's push on, you know, what people think. We was talking about last night. What is truth? You know, and it's like you find yourself, you know, dancing and chasing all of these things that at the end of that rainbow is no truth. The truth of the matter was these people focused in and they allowed Jesus to affect their life in such a way, and and I think that this is how we should approach it too, taking the scripture for what it says and allowing it to penetrate us, and that is the transformation. And when I recognize that he is really the savior, I came to seek and to save that which was lost. Zacchaeus, woman at the well, woman caught in adultery. I mean, on and on. And you just find this idea of he's setting up and showing us just how much he cares about people. Now all of a sudden, that becomes attractive to others. You know? Because everyone he interacted with needed saving.
The Cross Is The Purpose
SPEAKER_02They needed to be saved, man. Exactly right. And you know what? Still true. They weren't the only ones, guys. Yeah. And you go back to John 12, and y'all were talking about that. I was just thinking, I was reading here in John 12 in verse 27, and Jesus talking about knowing. I think you know the last episode we talked about, the cross didn't slip up on him.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, for sure.
SPEAKER_02Okay. In verse 27, now my soul has become troubled. And what shall I say? Father, save me from this hour. Okay, but for this purpose, here's my mission. Here it is. Here's my mission. But for this purpose, I have come to this hour. And then look at the beauty. And this includes all of us and all the people we've talked about. Yep. You know, the woman at the well, the woman caught in adultery, the apostle Peter and all his mess-ups, and Wayne and all his goofball stuff. And all of us, Jesus says in verse 32, and I, if I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all men, people, literally, to myself. And what we've seen and what we've talked about so far is that's exactly what he did. He understood his mission. Okay. And then you just see him carrying it out.
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_02All the days of his life.
SPEAKER_04Just always. I think that when I think about Jesus and just his, I mean, his pursuit for the mission, I think that was inspiring. Well, it's it's inspiring to me, and I know to you guys as well, but it was very inspiring to Paul. I mean, he's you know, not only that he was his savior, and not only, you know, he was, you know, all the other things we'll talk about as well. But I think one of those driving motivations is Paul felt like he wasn't worthy, and he was.
SPEAKER_01Well, and and I'm thinking about all of the people in God's story who completed the missions that they were given. And one of the common themes that I'm finding is I don't want to say they were immune to distraction, but they didn't give in to it. And so, I mean, obviously we've been talking about Jesus, but you think like Noah in the Ark. I mean, he could have been distracted and stopped, but he didn't, or you think about Joseph and his circumstances, or Ezra and Nehemiah and trying to rebuild that the ones in scripture that are successful are the ones that set course on the mission and stick with it. That's right. And it's that let God give the increase, whether that's accomplishing goals within the church and within the kingdom, whether it's converting souls, whatever that mission is, the ones that are successful are focused and do it, and they do it every day.
SPEAKER_04That's right. Well, the one thing, and it just kind of got me in my feels about that was you know, this wasn't just a job that he was supposed to accomplish. Right. It was but there was more to it because he wanted it to affect people's hearts. And I think that, you know, you were talking about all of these guys in this kind of this kind of a side street for just a second. All of these guys that were we don't need to get distracted.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, we just talked about that.
SPEAKER_04Come on, man. Squirrel. Oh, sorry. Um, so but all of these guys that were given these tasks, they could not complete it like it needed to be completed because they couldn't be the savior. They was a type, and you know, Moses led them through the Red Sea, Noah saved them through the ark, you know, Abraham became, you know, the one who, you know, the seed of the Christ would come through, and you know, Ezra, Nehemiah, and all of these guys, and and I think that, you know, the book of Hebrews kind of brings this thought out as well. All of those guys are great, and they encourage us to to have the right faith, but the greatest faith of all faiths was Jesus Christ. And what was the purpose? To save people. I mean, to save them. And he touched untouchable people. I mean, lepers and you know, broke backs and broke legs, and I mean, he was He reached the unreachable, didn't he? He was, I mean, blind folks. Like John 9, that boy says, here's what I know. This guy named Jesus did this thing to me, and I'm gonna follow him. I mean, because he cared about me. Y'all like do y'all want to be his disciple too?
The Mission Becomes Our Mission
SPEAKER_02But you know, Maggie said earlier, and even uh, I guess beginning of the episode about he came with a mission. But guys, and he's talked about how he gave examples, how people stayed to it, stayed with it. Yep. You know, didn't but think about his last words. After the resurrection, he came with a mission and he finished that mission. Think about Luke 24. Yeah, that's right. You call because in Luke 24, he's resurrected, he's made his appearances, and now he's fixing to send back to the ascend back to the Father. And I want you to just notice in verse 45, Luke 24, he opened their minds to understand the scriptures, and he said to them, Thus it is written that the Christ would suffer and rise again from the dead the third day. And that and that repentance for forgiveness of sins. Why'd he come? He came as a savior of the world to forgive us of our sins. And that wonderful message is to be proclaimed in the name to what? All nations. That's right. All nations, just like we started in John 1, the world. Okay? We saw it demonstrated, beginning from Jerusalem. And while in look, you you dropped down to verse 51, and while he was blessing them, he departed from them. His last departing words were, guys, you got a mission. You got a mission.
SPEAKER_04You got a mission.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_04Go save people, man.
SPEAKER_01Exactly. And and you think about in Acts 4, uh 1920, but Peter and John answered whether it's right in the sight of God to listen to you rather than God, you be the judge, for we cannot but speak of what we have seen and heard. I can't do it.
SPEAKER_04You said it, they got it.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, and and I mean that's the call for us is we got to get it. Yes. Um, we we've got to move beyond the distractions and realize what it is. And I think about the beauty of the the passage uh in Corinthians where it talks about the church being the different parts of the body. I mean, I mean, because on one hand, we all have the same mission, and that is spread the kingdom for sure, bring people to Christ, but how that's done is going to be different because, like, I I think about you both are are really good at interacting and building those instant connections and relationships and and preaching. And uh most everyone else in church has a different function. But whether it's bringing people to Christ through kids' classes, whether it's doing it through the website or social media, whether it's I mean, whatever the ministry, there are ways for people to spread the kingdom of God. I mean, you can do it regardless of your knowledge level, regardless of your abilities. I mean, there are ways for you to work in the kingdom, but you've got to commit to the mission to do it.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. I love that. And I think the thing is the mission. Yeah. Recognizing the mission. Jesus never lost sight of it.
SPEAKER_04Well, we're gonna talk about gas, we're gonna talk about all the things are we talking about and trying to find ways for people to come in contact with the savior of the world. I mean, that woman ran in there and said, Y'all need to come out here and hear this. And they said, we don't even believe because of what she said, we believe because we heard him.
SPEAKER_02Right.
SPEAKER_04Can we get people to hear him? That's the key, I think.
SPEAKER_02And you you made mention of it earlier, because of his true care.
SPEAKER_04Yep.
SPEAKER_02Because people weren't paying attention to that woman.
SPEAKER_04No. At all.
SPEAKER_02None. Zilt.
SPEAKER_04Yeah. No.
SPEAKER_02They had already counted her out. Exactly right. She was off with the radar. Yep. Yeah. Yeah. And um, you know, passages that you kind of started with, uh, Matt Brown and uh Simeon in in uh chapter two. I just love this phrase. Yeah, I love this phrase. And this is what the Savior of the world would do for all of us. And this is what he offers. Uh he said, for my eyes have seen your salvation. Now, Lord, you're releasing your bondservant to depart in peace. Oh man, he knew it. In peace. He knew it. And that's what we can do the same, guys. Yep. We can depart in peace, too. What a blessing. Because Jesus, who is he? He's the Son of God, he's the savior of the world to save us from our sins. And you know what it does? Peace. Perfect peace. So many things.
SPEAKER_01Matt, anything else on your end?
SPEAKER_04Man, I'm exhausted now. Like I done got just so pumped up.
SPEAKER_02Hey, I'll tell you what's on your end. What you said earlier about the woman. Well, going back to the city, what was she doing? Hooting and a hollering.
SPEAKER_04She was just a hootin' and a hollering, man. They're like, what in the world is she talking about? She got him, baby. Hey, I do I want to I want to stay right there too in Luke 2. That verse 33. Joseph and his mother marveled uh at those things which were spoken of him. Then Simeon blessed them and said to Mary, his mother, Behold, this child is destined for the fall and rising of many in Israel, and for a sign which will be spoken against, yes, a sword will pierce through your own soul also, that the thoughts of many hearts may be revealed, bro. What powerfully man, you talking about the savior of the giving them a choice, man. If that ain't a free will statement, I mean, early on, that boy Simeon's on one, ain't he? Y'all need to start preaching on Luke 2. We may do that, yeah.
SPEAKER_02Man, I'm like, wait a minute, there's all kind of material in here. It's just gonna be which one gets to it further.
SPEAKER_01I'll take credit regardless.
SPEAKER_04Like I saw this right off the podcast, boys.
Great Commission And Final Charge
SPEAKER_01All right. Oh, it's good. So good job, boys. So so to wrap us up, I've got two passages uh I want us to close with. And hopefully this can be our mission and also our our overall mission, but also our personal one. Uh Matthew 28 19, uh, Jesus says, Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I'm with you always to the end of the age. And then Romans 1, 16, for I'm not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith for faith, as it is written, righteous shall live by faith. That's great. All right. Thank you so much. We'll do it again in a couple of weeks. See ya.
